For Parents by Parents
Being a Mum of two I found it increasingly frustrating at the rate my children grew out of their clothes, lost interest in the latest toys and games while their appetites for the next new classroom craze was endless. Not only was it expensive we just accumulated kids stuff which was literally falling out of closets and taking up space in the loft. Enough was enough! However, my options were limited to:
Taking it to the tip, this was easy however my conscience kicked in, why add to more waste? What about the environment?
Taking it to the charity shop…this was a lot of work for a time poor Mum with a full time job. It felt good but how could I guarantee it would end up in the right place?
Sell it on well known market place sites – this was a minefield, hidden fees, complicated tariffs and time wasters! It was time consuming, distracting and complicated.
So this got me thinking – what if there was a place that could combine all of the above. Save the environment by reusing preloved kids stuff, donating to charity while making a bit of money all on a really simple and easy to use platform?
Kidching was born! Our mission is to create a simple, uncomplicated kids only market place where you can protect the environment, donate to charity whilst making some quick and easy money along the way. Likewise creating a go to place for young families to find a cost effective way to buy their kids stuff as they grow.
Good for you,
good for the planet
By keeping items in use and avoiding them from ending up in landfill sites can really help to reduce our carbon footprint. By reducing the amount of new items being produced lowers the emission from sourcing materials, production, packaging and shipping.
Did you know that fast fashion is the second most polluting industry and over 1.2 tons of quality items with lots of life still left in them end up in landfill?
When it comes to disposing of your unwanted kids stuff we all know the bin isn’t the best option however 450,000 tonnes of unwanted kids good ends up in landfill each year in the UK – why add to the waste?
